Introducing Feedback add-on Plugin for Easy Digital Downloads

One of my customers asked me is there a way to send automatic feedback emails after user have purchased products via Easy Digital Downloads Plugin. He said that it was coming more and more difficult to manually send emails to customers and ask for product feedback. I could not find any extensions for this job and I really liked the idea. Meet the EDD Feedback add-on for Easy Digital Downloads!

After I have developed the Feedback plugin several weeks I noticed new handy plugin called EDD Product Updates. Fortunately this is not exactly the same kind of plugin. We have room for both.

EDD Feedback features

This is rather simple plugin with one goal in mind. Sent automatic feedback emails after user have purchased your products. Feedback email can be helpful in many ways. You can just ask have you been happy with our product or you can send extra info like documentation.

• In Downloads → Settings → Extensions you can set feedback emails.
• You can set time period when emails are sent. For example one day after the purchase and one week after the purchase.
• You can use all the same email tags like in EDD core plugin. Only extra email tag for now is {downloads} which provide purchased products without download links. I might remove this when EDD have a filter removing download links.

There are couple of features I have been thinking about adding.

• Disable sending feedback emails for downloads I want. This would been extra metabox and checkbox in download edit screen.
•  Add {unsubscribe_link} email tag like in EDD Product Updates add-on.
